Changes to the Graduate route visa from January 2027
We would like to inform students about an important change regarding the duration of permission granted under the Graduate Route for certain applicants starting in 2027.
What is changing?
- Beginning 1 January 2027, students with Student permission in the UK who have completed an eligible UK bachelor’s or master’s degree will receive 18 months of permission when applying for the Graduate Route.
- This represents a decrease from the current two-year duration.
- Students applying for the Graduate Route before 1 January 2027 will not be affected by this change.
Who is not affected?
- Students completing a PhD or other doctoral qualifications will continue to receive three years of permission upon a successful Graduate Route application.
