Applying for a Graduate visa - Winter 2024

graduation 800x533

The Graduate visa allows graduates to work or look for work in the UK for up to two years (or three years for PhD Students).   To be eligible for the Graduate visa, applicants must have a valid Student visa at the time of their application and must have successfully completed a relevant degree course.

If you are eligible for the Graduate route, the University’s Immigration Support Service Compliance team will report directly to UKVI that you have successfully completed your course and are eligible for the Graduate route.  Please note you should not submit your Graduate visa application until you have been notified by the ISS Compliance team that this report has been made.

The ISS Compliance Team is working to report any Student Visa holder eligible for the Graduate Route to the Home Office as soon as possible. The team will prioritise those Student Visa holders whose visas expire earliest first.     Due to the large number of students graduating at this time of year, the ISS Compliance team has an increased volume of Graduate Route eligibility reports to make to UKVI.  We appreciate your patience and would ask students to refrain from emailing the ISS Compliance team for updates.  The team will be unable to provide responses to individual emails asking to be reported for the Graduate Route that are sent within 15 working days of a student being completed on QSIS, unless your visa expires before the start of December 2024.

Once the ISS Compliance team has reported to UKVI that you are eligible for the Graduate Route, you will receive an email from isscompliance@qub.ac.uk with the subject “Graduate Route- Eligibility” as confirmation that you have been reported to the Home Office as Graduate Route eligible.

You can find information about the visa requirements of the Graduate Route and the application process on our Graduate visa webpages.

You can also find further information on the UKVI website and on the UKCISA website.
