The nAG WHPC Student Award 2025
The nAG and NI-HPC WHPC Student Award, a collaboration between the nAG Women in Tech and WHPC Chapter Groups and NI-HPC’s WHPC Chapter, joined nAG’s prestigious Student Awards programme to recognise outstanding achievements by female students in HPC. This award highlights exceptional contributions from students at NI-HPC, representing Queen’s University Belfast and Ulster University, striving to inspire a more inclusive and diverse future in high-performance computing.
The 2025 nAG Student Award went to Zeinab Abdelrahman from Queen's University Belfast for her poster entitled “Accelerating Multi-Omics Analysis with High-Performance Computing.”

She showcased how NI-HPC dramatically reduces analysis time for large-scale datasets—from days to minutes—while ensuring stability and reproducibility across complex workflows. Her work demonstrates that by leveraging high-performance computing, we can efficiently process and integrate multiple layers of biological data, including proteomics, metabolomics, epigenetics, and whole-genome sequencing. This integration is critical for uncovering hidden biological patterns that would otherwise remain undetected when analysing each data type in isolation.
Thank you Zeinab and congratulations!
