The New Year Honours List 2024 has been published, marking the achievements and service of extraordinary people across the UK, including members of staff at Queen's.

The following colleagues have been recognised in the 2024 New Year Honours:

• Professor Janice Carruthers, Professor of French Linguistics, School of Arts, English and Languages, was named Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) for services to Modern Languages.
• Margaret Sterling, Teaching Associate in the School of Medicine, Dentistry and Biomedical Sciences, was named a Medallist of the Order of the British Empire (BEM) for services to Higher Education in Northern Ireland.
• In addition, David Crozier, lately Head of Strategic Partnerships and Engagement, was named Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) for services to the Economy.
