A shortlisted finalist in four other categories (Best Student Experience in Accommodation: University-Affiliated Providers; Health & Wellbeing Initiative; Inclusion in Student Accommodation Award; and Sustainability Initiative of the Year), Queen’s beat off stiff competition from seven other finalists to win Student Accommodation Team of the Year.

Commenting on the award, Head of Residential and Hospitality Services, Student and Campus Experience Directorate, Lisa Steele, said:

“Our success at the Property Week Student Accommodation Conference & Awards ends our year in Queen’s Accommodation on a real high. It has been a successful 2025 for the team and being shortlisted in five categories at these awards, and winning one, speaks to the quality of service we deliver for our students. So a big ‘well done’ to all the team on this latest recognition.”

Celebrating its 18th year in 2025, the full-day Property Week Student Accommodation Conference & Awards is billed as “the UK’s leading student housing event”. Hosting hundreds of delegates from across the student accommodation spectrum, this year’s discussions and debates centred around nine key themes relating to the sector’s current state of play and the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.

The evening’s awards celebrated the achievements of UK accommodation institutions, affiliates and individuals across 26 categories, judged by a panel of 29 professionals and key figures from across the student accommodation industry.

This latest award for Queen’s Accommodation comes on the back of three other national accolades earned by the team in 2025 with Niamh Turner winning ASRA Res Life Hero of the Year in April, Chang Jit Yee winning CUBO Residence Life Star in May, and the Operational Excellence in Third Level Education award at the Operational Excellence Awards UK 2025 in September.
