Queen’s came out with an overall positivity of 81%, an increase on last year’s overall rating, with improvements across seven of the eight categories. The most marked improvements came in the areas of Organisation and Management, and Academic Support.

Professor Judy Williams, Pro Vice Chancellor for Education and Students said of the results:

“We’re delighted that the majority of our students highlight their positive experiences during their time with us Queen’s.

“The survey findings emphasise the strong levels of engagement and involvement of our students across the University, and this was reflected in the celebratory atmosphere at our recent summer graduations.

“As an ever-evolving University, we never rest on our laurels and are always seeking to learn how we can offer those who make Queen’s their university of choice the highest-quality student experience.

“We know taking the step into higher education can be a huge transition for prospective students, and we will work closely with our student body and Queen’s Student Union officers to ensure continued improvement for the student community – present and future.”

The nationwide survey, published annually, aims to support prospective students in making their UCAS application choices by giving an insight into the student experience of current students at various points in their academic journey.

The 2024 results saw Queen’s maintain its place Queen’s in the top third of the Russell group, and as the second highest ranking Russell Group University in the Assessment and Feedback category. 
The University is in line with, or above, sector benchmarks across five of seven survey themes, reflecting the excellent work staff and students are engaging in through Strategy 2030 to deliver transformative student experiences.

The survey results help universities and colleges determine areas for further improvement in the student experience and identify course subjects in which they excel.

Queen’s ranked in the top-five across all UK universities in nine subjects, with the School of Nursing’s Learning Disability Nursing course, and the School of Natural and Built Environment’s Planning, Environment and Development course, coming in second, whilst Architecture, and Microbiology lists third.
