Queen’s academic delegation visits Nashville, Belfast’s Sister City
An academic delegation from Queen's University recently visited Nashville, one of Belfast's sister cities.
The visit took place from 17-19 March 2019 and was led by the President and Vice-Chancellor of Queen's, Professor Ian Greer.
Academic colleagues from the Faculties of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences and Medicine, Health and Life Sciences also took part in the delegation, including Professor Michael Alcorn, Mr Chris Corrigan, Dr Joe Duffy, Dr Victoria Durrer, Ms Catherine Monaghan, Professor Glenn Patterson and Dr Olwen Purdue.
Queen’s is an active participant in the Nashville-Belfast Sister Cities connection and has growing links with Nashville partner universities, Vanderbilt University and Belmont University.
The Queen’s delegation began their visit with a Music Tour of Nashville and hosted Sister Cities board members for a St. Patrick’s Day dinner to celebrate the special relationship between the two cities. Visits to Belmont and Vanderbilt Universities on 18 and 19 March stimulated positive discussions around furthering academic partnership links and student mobility opportunities across a range of disciplines.
