Welcome to Queen's
The information on this page is to help you apply for your Student visa.
We know you have a lot of paperwork to complete before you arrive in Belfast, but we hope this information will make the process as easy as possible.
Please do contact us with any questions you may have.
The next step on your journey is to submit your Student visa application. On our website you can find useful information on this process. Please read our guidance carefully. If you have any questions about the application process, please contact us at immigration@qub.ac.uk.
Visit www.vfsglobal.co.uk/en or https://uk.tlscontact.com/ to find out information about Visa Application Centres outside the UK, including current opening times and visa services offered in your particular country or region.

Student Visa Maintenance Requirement
UKVI require you to provide evidence that you have enough funds to cover your tuition fees AND living costs while you are studying in the UK. Living costs for studying in Belfast are £1,023 per month up to a maximum of 9 months (£9,207). Your tuition fees are stated on your CAS.
When you receive your Student visa, please check the expiry date carefully. You must ensure that you arrive in the UK during the validity of this visa and by the latest date of arrival mentioned on your CAS. Your UKVI Visa Decision Letter will confirm the full duration of your visa. If you notice an error on your visa, please contact immigration@qub.ac.uk immediately for guidance.
If you are planning to apply for a visa from within the UK it is important that you contact immigration@qub.ac.uk urgently to check if this is possible. UK immigration laws are constantly changing and the Immigration Support Service Immigration Advisers are here to give you support, help and guidance to ensure that the visa application process goes smoothly.
When you are making your travel plans you are advised to book a flight which arrives to the United Kingdom (e.g. Heathrow, Belfast International Airport etc.). When you arrive at your chosen UK airport you will pass through UK immigration control where your visa should be stamped or scanned, confirming your permission to enter and study in the UK.
If you are arriving via the Republic of Ireland i.e. to Dublin, Shannon or Cork airport, please ensure you review the information on the UK Council for International Student Affairs (UKCISA) website.
If you have any questions about this, please contact immigration@qub.ac.uk before you book your flights.
