Aging Simulation Suit GERT

Aging Simulation Suit GERT - 1 Aging Simulation Suit GERT - 2 Aging Simulation Suit GERT - 3 Aging Simulation Suit GERT - 4

The age simulation suit GERT offers the opportunity to experience the impairments of older persons, even for younger people. The age-related impairments are opacity of the eye lens, narrowing of the visual field, high-frequency hearing loss, head mobility restrictions, joint stiffness, loss of strength, reduced grip ability and reduced coordination skills.

By their interaction, an effect very similar to the impairments of sensorimotor skills in old age can be achieved. The age-related walk and the changed grip ability are especially simulated, which is very close to reality. However, the increased mental load and the uncertainty of soaring movement will also be understandable when wearing the age simulation suit GERT.

The ageing suit, GERT, is a versatile tool that comprises a range of separate components: special goggles, hearing protection including ear plugs, cervical collar, weight vest, elbow wraps, wrist weight cuffs, special gloves, knee wraps, and ankle weight cuffs. Its one-size-fits-all design ensures adaptability to various users.

The suit GERT was featured on the TV show The Doctors.

Those who tried the age simulation suit GERT will have a better understanding of elderly persons' behaviour.

Therefore, the age simulation suit GERT is very applicable in the apprenticeship and advanced training of experts and in the development of products and services for elderly people.

Tremor Simulator
Tremor Simulator

Simulating the senile tremor. The tremor simulator, a simulator for the mostly in old age increasingly occurring tremor, is now available as an accessory for GERT. Using special gloves and a specific variable control unit, the tremor is absolutely realistically simulated by EMS impulses.

The use is very simple because the tremor simulator will be delivered completely prepared and perfectly adjusted. After the gloves have been put on, the control unit has to be switched on and controlled with only one dial according to the desired tremor intensity. Understanding the everyday problems caused by senile tremors is a very valuable experience for everyone who has to deal with the elderly, e.g., in gerontology, geriatrics, or elderly care.

COPD Simulator
COPD Simulator

Simulating shortness of breath in COPD COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease) is a severe lung disease with chronic narrowed respiratory tracts, which is mainly caused by smoking. Since the COPD is not curable, it is one of the most common causes of death in the world and is the only one with a rising tendency. Therefore, the prevention of COPD is particularly important, but also a better understanding for COPD sufferers.

Apart from cough and sputum, shortness of breath is one of the main symptoms of COPD, especially under exertion. The COPD simulator simulates shortness of breath, as it is not only sporadic, like cough, but permanent and so particularly stressful. The COPD simulator consists of an adjustable rib bandage to restrict the lung volume and an easily adjustable nose clip to reduce the air flow during inhalation and exhalation. The COPD simulator is not only safe but also incredibly easy to use. Breathing can be done through the mouth in case of excessive shortness of breath, making the application a breeze. It requires only a few moments, and the COPD simulator is one size, ensuring a comfortable and straightforward experience. COPD Simulator also has some essential advantages: no hardware disposables like mouthpieces or masks one size fits all self-explanatory in use no risk of breathlessness and dizziness

Kyphosis Simulator
Kyphosis Simulator

Simulating a hunchback (medical name: kyphosis or hyperkyphosis) is a common condition characterised by an over-curvature of the thoracic spine and causes considerable discomfort.

One of the causes of a hunchback is osteoporosis, but other diseases, for example ankylosing spondylitis, also cause a hunchback. Weakened back musculature due to a lack of exercise and constant lousy posture can also lead to a hunchback. Developmental disorders during the growth phase are also a possible cause. The kyphosis simulator simulates a hunchback and the symptoms associated with it. The typical posture of a hunchback is created by means of an adjustable neck loop attached to a hip belt. With the kyphosis simulator, it is possible to experience very effectively how a hunchback has a negative effect on the quality of life of those affected. It can be used together with the age simulation suit GERT, but also separately, and can be deployed effectively for sensitisation and prevention.

Simulation of eye diseases
Simulation of eye diseases

These are special simulation glasses for the age simulation suit GERT, simulating typical age-related eye diseases.

The set of glasses consists of 6 simulation glasses and will be delivered in a storage box. The glasses are inscribed with the eye diseases. The temples of the simulation glasses are individually adjustable. This Simulation of Eye Diseases is an add-on accessory for the GERT Aging Suit. However, it can also be used separately. The simulated eye diseases are: Macular degeneration Cataract Glaucoma Unilateral retinal detachment Diabetic retinopathy Retinitis pigmentosa
