Call for Special Session Proposals
The call for special session proposals is now closed. The list of accepted special sessions is available here.
Special session proposals are invited to the 5th IFAC Conference on Intelligent Control and Automation Sciences (2019). Researchers interested in organizing special sessions are kindly invited to submit their proposals through the ICONS invited session proposal submission page at https://ifac.papercept.net. (Accessed by follow the link ‘Submit a contribution to ICONS 2019’). The deadline for submission is 20thJanuary 2019.
The topics of the proposed special sessions should fall within the scope of the conference (see http://www.qub.ac.uk/sites/icons2019/ConferenceScope/ for more details). Invited sessions related to recent advances in a particular field, emerging areas, or applications of computational intelligence in control are particularly welcome.
Proposals, which should be no more than two-pages in length, must include:
- The title of the invited session
- The names, contact details and brief biographies of the organisers
- A description of the scope of and motivation for the special session
- A tentative list of invited papers (titles, authors w. affiliations)
The targeted number of papers per session is 5-6, and the majority of these should have authors other that the organizers. Invited session receiving more than 10 papers will be split into linked sessions in the conference program. Invited session proposals that attract fewer than four accepted papers will be cancelled and the accepted papers will be included as regular papers in the conference program.
Proposals will be evaluated by the Special Session Chairs based on alignment with the scope of the conference, timelines of the topics, the qualifications and experience of the organisers, and the diversity and number of papers already identified for the session. Provisional decisions regarding proposals will be communicated to organisers within two weeks of receipt of proposals. Provisionally accepted special sessions will be listed on the website. The Special Session Chairs reserve the right to combine provisionally accepted proposals that have a similar theme.
Note that special session papers will undergo the same review process as regular paper submissions, and are expected to meet the same quality standards.
Papers and special session proposals should be submitted via the IFAC Conference Manuscript Management System website at https://ifac.papercept.net. It is the responsibility of the special session organizers to make sure that papers submitted to their special session clearly indicate the name of the special session the paper belongs to.
All accepted papers will appear in the proceedings of the meeting, will be hosted on-line on ScienceDirect.com website within the the IFACPapersOnLine series and will be indexed in SCOPUS.
