QGI-REC and iRise Academic Progression Workshop

QGI-REC and iRise held the first Academic Progression Workshop for Black, Asian, Minority Ethnic colleagues and colleagues from international backgrounds on Tuesday 30 January 2024.

This workshop was co-hosted by Queen's REC (Race Equality Charter) team and iRise – Queen's Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) and international staff network.

The aim of the workshop was to support colleagues from BAME and international backgrounds. The workshop was developed following engagement with BAME colleagues and is a component of the Racial Equity Programme at Queen's aligned with our joining the Race Equality Charter (REC) in 2020.

At the workshop several academics from BAME and international backgrounds who have had recent Academic Progression success shared their experiences and reflections. Senior academics hosted a Q&A session and there was an opportunity to connect with colleagues during roundtable conversations.
