Nursing Academic Opportunities
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or Midwifery (essential)
- Higher research degree in academic field of study including Master’s in Nursing/Midwifery/Health Related Discipline (desirable)
- PhD or equivalent from an accredited institution (essential)
- Evidence of ability to meet the teaching needs of undergraduate and postgraduate nursing and midwifery students (essential)
- Substantial post registration experience in nursing (essential)
- Curriculum planning, implementation, and evaluative review for undergraduate and postgraduate nursing programs (essential)
- Evidence of introducing and applying a range of teaching and assessment strategies for undergraduate and postgraduate programs (essential)
- Working knowledge of international health care policy in relation to nursing care (essential)
- Evidence of undertaking PhD supervision in the subject area (desirable)
Specific Criteria
- Professor
10 years’ experience post PhD with 12 publications
Experience as Associate Professor for at least 5 years or currently holding position of Full Professor in a recognized Higher Education Institute
- Associate Professor
5 years’ experience post PhD with 8 publications
Full-time academic appointment as Assistant Professor for at least 5 years in a recognized academic institution or currently holding a position of Associate Professor
- Assistant Professor
PhD or equivalent with 5 publications
Full-time academic appointment as Lecturer for at least 5 years in a recognized academic institution or currently holding position of Assistant Professor
- Lecturer
Lecturers will normally hold a minimum of a Master’s degree and where applicable hold a Specialist status or equivalent.
